One Girls Crazy Outlook on life in Southern Maine

In December 2010 I moved to Southern Maine from a small town next to Bangor (Bangor is right in the center Maine and is one of the largest cities in Maine for those of you wondering if it's in Canada). Here are some crazy stories of outings, hikes, beer and just the general mayhem that is my life. Welcome. Enjoy. Love it.

Shipyard Applehead

While I would love to sit here and tell you this beer is amazing. I can't.

As someone who counts down the days to Pumpkinhead, you can imagine my excitement when I saw there was an applehead beer.

Shipyard Brewing Company is located at 86 Newbury St. Right here in lovely Portland, Maine.

Pumpkinhead is a cinnamon pumpkin malt beverage made by Shipyard Brewing Company.
It comes out just before Halloween  every year, tastes just like a pumpkin pie. When I drink it at hope, I add brown sugar to the rim of the glass. This makes it taste more like a pumpkin pie.

Now, back to the applehead malt beverage.

When I bought this beer, or "malt beverage" I thought for sure it was going to taste just like apple cider. It doesn't.

The mixture of apple and cinnamon is just not balenced. I have not tried it with the brown sugar on the glass rim, but I am sure I will ample oppurtunity to do so considering I bought a 12 pack. Why would I do this you ask? well, because thats the only way they sell it at RSVP. Oh, AND it's $15.99. Yea, we all make mistakes.
